Imagine a cavernous gallery space hidden beneath a beautiful seafront Georgian house, where the Mad Hatter's Tea Party meets a Grimm Brother's fairytale, crossed with bad bedtime stories and a prohibition speakeasy, and you have the beginnings of the House of Curiositea...
For the weekends of May 2011, as part of the Brighton & Hove Open Houses Festival, our home will be filled with a mishmash of twisted textiles, unique-chic jewels, darkly divine graphics, vintage-esque craftiness, and beautiful photography; not to mention a magnificent vintage tea party full of old-fashioned treats, suitably antique crockery, the odd bit of live music, dressing up, and unexpected surprises around every corner...
So pop by, have a cucumber sandwich, and admire a dazzling array of talented local artists surrounded by plenty of quirky little happenings. You never know what you might find.
